Materials for the production of a historical gazetteer of the Ottoman empire.
Initial aims:
- a vocabulary of Ottoman administrative units
- a linkable database of Ottoman provinces, subprovinces, major cities, and other generally-agreed geospatial objects
Data
The initial dataset is detailed at a Github repository.
Structure
I describe this at a separate page. Insofar as possible, I am replicating wikidata's items and properties. My model is the JSTOR Labs Wikibase.
